Calvary Chapel
This new student wing addition comes at the request to upgrade student classroom facilities and add a daycare component to the existing church campus. The church is also looking for additional administrative space as well as interior renovations to the existing chapel. This project consists of 7,945 GSF of new building and 2,929 GSF of renovations.
The church has requested for the construction of the new student wing to be as economical as possible. This led the design to recommend going with a pre-engineered metal building system wrapped in an EFIS envelope with areas of metal paneling. The design of the main façade facing north was inspired by the abnormal angles in stained glass. The joints in the EIFIS system are angled to the corners of the different sized openings in the classroom areas. This creates a dynamic yet subtle expression that brings interest to the building’s architectural look all the while allowing itself to integrate with the existing architecture.
